You enter the coffee shop and sit down at a table. You order a smoked salmon sandwich and a hot chocolate and sit patiently to await your food. Glancing outside, you see most of the rest of the group huddling by the wall outside in the cold, and you feel comforted that you made the right decision since you have a long hike ahead of you and some warmth and a good meal will give you the energy you need for the day. Savoring the salmon that seems to melt in your mouth and the hot chocolate that warms you soul, the time passes uneventfully until the professors let you know it's time to regroup and head out. Your wallet may be slightly lighter, but you feel quite satisfied.

Since you chose to wear the heavy waterproof boots that you had yet to break in, your feet begin to hurt and you lag behind the rest of the group. You do take a few opportunites to take pictures of the landscape, especially the flooded fields, which you make a joke about the worth of the real estate there. After about a mile of walking, you see the rest of the group waiting near a sea wall, as you get there you are informed of the seals about 100 yards away from your location, at the same time the rest of the group continues on. Quickly taking one or two pictures of the seals, that don't turn out well due to your cameras poor optical zoom, you trod after the rest of the group. Again, you approach them stopped and taking a rest, but they continue on before you get there and are unable to rest with them. This happens once more before you reach the group at the tourist information center where you all stop to use the restrooms; you are relieved to find the restrooms here as your stomach began churning uncertainly halfway through the hike. You are also informed that the power has gone out on the island. A rumor then reaches you that not only has the power gone off, but you'll have to walk through knee deep high water so you should take off your shoes and socks and roll up your pant legs. For this, however, you are prepared with your various waterproof clothing. As everybody prepares to cross you notice that Kevin, Ashley, and Terra have not yet reunited with the rest of the group.
