Escape From Aran Islands (Day 1)

A Choose Your Own Hypertext Adventure

By: Michael A. Oren

You step off the ferry and on to the Aran Islands carrying your bag and backpack. The salty smell of the Atlantic waifs into your nostrils and a calm breeze whispers in your ears. Pierce, your guide for the trip, motions you toward the red van that will carry your bags up to the hotel. You let out a sigh as you put you bag in the van thinking that this will be a couple of relaxing and enjoyable days with hikes around the island visiting the cornacopia of monastic and historical sites that the island lays host to. You and the group begin your hike up to the hotel, a short march that leaves you feeling invigorated for the rest of the time on the island. From what you gathered from Professor Brown, today's hike would be a nice short one where you'd see one or two sites while tomorrow would entail a five mile hike around the island seeing several of the major sites. The group then breaks up for about an hour to settle into their rooms.

You decide to change into a full set of waterproof clothes (pants, jacket, boots)
You decide to just relax for a bit and wear the clothes you had on for the day (t-shirt, jacket and waterproof jacket, and shoes)
